Timber Construction Day

08 December 2026

10:00–15:15 | Mechelen
Event language: Dutch

How can we encourage greater use of locally sourced timber in construction? Where are the opportunities, and what barriers still stand in the way of wider adoption?

The MateriNex Common Interest Group (CIG) Materials for Building and Construction and the Belgian Timber Confederation are organising a Timber Construction Day as part of the Green Deal Lokaal Hout, with support from WOOD.BE and Fedustria. The event brings together people from the timber sector, research institutions and other organisations with an interest in timber construction.

Get inspired by presentations on locally sourced timber, cross-laminated timber (CLT) and reclaimed timber. In interactive breakout sessions, we’ll explore opportunities, tackle challenges and develop practical actions to strengthen the timber construction value chain.
