On Tuesday 5 May, Earth, Plant & Fiber will host its annual Biobased Future Day.
This year’s edition will focus on the launch of BioMaterialis, a new business network being developed within Earth, Plant & Fiber, in close collaboration with MateriNex.
With this initiative, the partners are taking the next step in the second phase of an IBN application (Innovative Business Network) to VLAIO, aimed at building a strong and future-oriented ecosystem around bio-based materials.
Biobased Future Day provides an important opportunity to connect companies across the entire value chain and to strengthen engagement towards the further development and submission of this IBN trajectory.
Towards a strong IBN network for bio-based materials
Through BioMaterialis, the partners bring together companies working with renewable, regionally available feedstocks and contributing to the scale-up of bio-based applications.
In addition, knowledge institutions, public authorities and other stakeholders are involved to ensure the broader anchoring of this development.
The IBN network focuses on:
- jointly addressing barriers to scale-up
- pooling knowledge and expertise
- initiating collaborative innovation projects
- creating new market and business opportunities
By joining forces, the partners aim to increase their impact in terms of both market development and policy frameworks, while also contributing to robust, future-proof biomaterials.
